The Lane
Place for Public Engagement
Designed by MCA DENVER's architect, David Adjaye, to be both functional and creative, The Lane is a unique architectural feature of the Museum. The Lane serves as a route for people walking in the neighborhood and for emergency vehicles when necessary. Colorado artist and Professor, Clark Richert was commissioned by MCA DENVER to create the site-specific installation, titled Riemennian Tangencies. When peering out over The Lane from inside the Museum's Idea Box, Richert's geometric abstraction comes into full view. When utilized for a Museum activity, like the above pictured Test Site Project 1 (Guest Curator, Cara Resser), The Lane is an active place for public engagement and for Richert's artwork to become a playful stage.
The Lane is named in honor of Jill A. Wiltse & H. Kirk Brown III.
