Yu-Cheng Chou draws from the visual repertoire of found digital images, ranging from computer game animation to advertising photography and traditional East Asian landscape painting. His project for MCA DENVER, which is immediately appealing and playful, deconstructs the superficial world of fashion and glamour magazines and highlights the dehumanization of computer-generated graphics.
Yu Cheng Chou was born in Taiwan in 1976 and currently lives and works in Paris, France. He holds a BA from Taiwan National University of the Arts, Taipei and an MA from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France. In 2005, Chou received the Taipei Award for Excellence. He has had solo exhibitions at Open Art Contemporary Art Center, Taipei, Taiwan and Galerie ColletPark, Paris, France. Group exhibitions include Grand Palais, Paris, France and Bruselles Exposition, Brussels, Belgium. This is Chou's first exhibition in the United States.
Sponsored in part by the Council for Cultural Affairs, Taiwan; Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, TECO, New York, NY and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, TECO, Kansas City, MO; and the Asian Art Coordinating Council.

MCA DENVER has been conceptualized as an incubator of ideas in motion. We ask you for your answers whether subversive, controversial, enticing, or thoughtful. Your responses are part of our open platform. As a Museum Without a Front Door, we extend that same idea with this invitation for your imagination to go global - What's It to You?
