Howard Gardner, Hobbs Professor of Cognition and Education at Harvard Graduate School, proposed the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) in his 1983 book Frames of Mind. The MI Theory explains that through different learning styles, individuals process information and produce their understanding of information most effectively through a particular intelligence. At MCA DENVER, we have created a program called MI 5 focusing on 5 (musical, mathematical, visual, verbal, and kinesthetic) of the intelligences Gardner identified. MCA DENVER'S MI 5 Program is intended to enhance the way visitors experience the Museum by providing interactive tools that cater to the different intelligences. We hope to ensure that everyone who is curious about contemporary art has an opportunity to learn in a style that suits their personal aptitudes.

MCA DENVER has been conceptualized as an incubator of ideas in motion. We ask you for your answers whether subversive, controversial, enticing, or thoughtful. Your responses are part of our open platform. As a Museum Without a Front Door, we extend that same idea with this invitation for your imagination to go global - What's It to You?
