Docents, Lockers, Photography...
Docents
Trained docents are available to help individuals or groups with questions, and offer tours or suggestions for activities during any visit. Complimentary tours are available Tuesday–Sunday at 11:30 am & 3 pm.
Lockers
Lockers are available on the first floor. Keys can be requested from the Visitor Services Desk. MCA DENVER requests that all large carry items be stored in a locker including backpacks, purses, coats, shopping bags, and any oversized items.
Access
MCA Denver is wheelchair accessible on every floor, in all galleries, offices, and public spaces. Wheelchairs are available upon arrival at the Visitor Services Desk and can be requested in advance by contacting Andy Lynes, Visitor Services Manager, at 303 298 7554 andyl@mcadenver.org.
Seating
Benches designed by architect, David Adjaye are available on every floor. Folding chairs are also available, and any staff person, volunteer, or docent can help with chair requests.
Photography
MCA Denver is pleased to allow photography in the museum for your personal use. To protect the objects and copyright privileges of their creators and/or owners, and for the safety of our visitors, please be aware of the following restrictions while photographing in the museum.
Still photography of exhibited works, taken in existing light and without flash, is permitted unless posted in the specific gallery and on the condition that the photographs are solely for personal, non-commercial use. Flashes and tripods, as well as movie and video cameras, are prohibited. Photographs may not be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.
If you are interested in obtaining a publication-quality photograph of an object on view, or of the building for publication or studio purposes, or to inquire about commercial or portrait shoots, please contact Ali Hodkowski, at 303 298 7554 or alih@mcadenver.org.
Strollers
Strollers are permitted in the museum. We kindly ask that parents are mindful of the artworks on view as they move through the museum with children.
School Tours
MCA Denver offers school tours for all ages. Private underwriting is available to defray admission costs. To arrange a tour or ask about admissions underwriting, please contact Ama Mills-Robertson, Coordinator of Programming and Fictions, at 303 298 7554 or amam@mcadenver.org.
Family Activities
The Idea Box is located on the top floor of the museum and offers family activities. The Idea Box features beanbags and child-size tables and chairs. Books are available for parents and children, and the space has wireless internet access.
MCA CAFE
Open Tuesday–Sunday, 11 am–4 pm, and every Friday until 10 pm, MCA CAFE offers a full range of beverages such as coffee, tea, juice, wine, and mixed drinks. Food items include salads, soups, and other various light food offerings.
