|School Tour-Art Fitness Training
MCA Denver has created a unique, interactive school tour for K-5 students which focuses on careful looking. The Art Fitness Training tour addresses the goals of the 21st century Skills and Readiness Competencies: critical thinking and reasoning, information literacy, collaboration, self-direction, and invention. The tour is designed to support and reinforce classroom curriculum and addresses skills and competencies students need to be successful in the 21st century workforce.
For the tour, a trained Gallery Coach guides students in Art Fitness Training where students explore contemporary art through a series of "workouts": Warm-up hands-on activity, two reps of Art Fitness Training, and a cool-down reflection session. Students will gain and deepen their understanding of contemporary art while having fun along the way.
Tour is adaptable to other grade levels.
